That is the problem this hardware exists to solve. It takes any standard 510 cartridge, the fitting nearly every brand on the market uses, so you are never locked to one company's carts.
Preheat warms the oil gently before you inhale, thinning it so it feeds the heating element instead of sitting still. It is the quickest fix for a tight draw or a cart that has started to clog. Variable voltage covers the rest: dial down for a cooler, more flavour-forward pull, dial up when a heavier oil needs more push.
A one-setting battery gives you the same answer for every cartridge you own. This gives you a dial and a warm-up, which is what actually gets a stubborn cart moving. Carts come and go; this is the part you keep.
