**Why this one.** D.A.V.E. stands for Dave's Awesome Vape Extract, and the name is a deep cut. "Dave" is the sketch that made Cheech and Chong famous - recorded on their self-titled 1971 debut, Grammy-nominated that year, and still quoted by people who have never seen the film. Cheech knocks, says he's Dave, and Chong keeps answering that Dave's not here. Chong has said it came out of a rehearsal accident on a hot August day, with Cheech genuinely locked outside. This is the Botanicals line, built around flavour rather than a single cultivar.

**About Cheech & Chong's.** Richard "Cheech" Marin and Tommy Chong met in Vancouver in the late 1960s and spent the next decade turning stoner comedy into a genuine counterculture institution. They launched Cheech and Chong's Cannabis Co. in 2020 and entered New York in 2024 through a partnership with NorthEast Extracts. The company is unusual in how it works with retailers - independent shop owners keep full ownership of their stores and pay a royalty for the brand rather than being bought out, which the founders pitch explicitly as an alternative to the big multi-state operators. Cannabis affects everyone differently; aroma, flavour and effect vary by person and by batch.
