THC is the primary cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive effects associated with cannabis. The amount of THC in a product can vary widely based on the method of consumption and the strain at the source of that product. The high that is produced is often enhanced by the “entourage effect” which is a combination of multiple cannabinoids in conjunction with various terpenes and individual body chemistry.
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to each strain's unique flavor and aroma. Total terpenes represents the combined concentration of all terpene compounds detected in the product, which may influence the overall experience through the entourage effect.
In the early 2000s, a Nova Scotia engineer named Rick Simpson began reducing whole cannabis plants to a thick, dark oil and handing it out for free. By 2004 he had put his method online for anyone to follow, and the style has carried his initials ever since.
RSO is made by soaking the plant in a solvent and slowly evaporating it off, leaving a dense, tar-like extract. This one is extracted with ethanol, and its ingredient list is a single line: full spectrum cannabis extract. The cannabinoids and terpenes of the whole plant stay together in the finished oil rather than being separated out.
The dablicator dispenses it a little at a time with each press. What you get is RSO in its plainest form - one ingredient, the full profile of the plant, and the tradition Simpson started.
About Head & Heal: Head & Heal is the sister brand to Florist Farms, founded by Karli Miller-Hornick and Allan Gandelman, and grew out of Main Street Farms, the Cortland farm founded in 2010. It was one of the first New York hemp growers to receive the state's conditional adult-use cannabis cultivation license.
