THC is the primary cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive effects associated with cannabis. The amount of THC in a product can vary widely based on the method of consumption and the strain at the source of that product. The high that is produced is often enhanced by the “entourage effect” which is a combination of multiple cannabinoids in conjunction with various terpenes and individual body chemistry.
CBD is the second most prevalent cannabinoid and is primarily produced by hemp plants and at lower amounts in cannabis. CBD has soared in popularity due to its non-psychoactive effects.
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to each strain's unique flavor and aroma. Total terpenes represents the combined concentration of all terpene compounds detected in the product, which may influence the overall experience through the entourage effect.
In August 2022, Permanent Marker sat on ten store menus. By November 2023 it was on 587, and Leafly had named the Seed Junky Genetics cross from Los Angeles its Strain of the Year. First Class Genetics crossed it onto a Headband and LA Kush line to make Brain Stain; Headband is OG Kush crossed with Sour Diesel.
The aroma is commonly described as gassy up front, with sweetness running underneath and an earthy finish - the Permanent Marker side of the family showing through. Its character is most often reported as happy, uplifted and motivated: a heavier-feeling hybrid that stops short of the couch.
Choose it for two generations of gas: OG Kush and Sour Diesel, the fuel-heavy classics of the 1990s, on one side, and Permanent Marker's newer candy-and-solvent funk on the other.
