THC is the primary cannabinoid responsible for the psychoactive effects associated with cannabis. The amount of THC in a product can vary widely based on the method of consumption and the strain at the source of that product. The high that is produced is often enhanced by the “entourage effect” which is a combination of multiple cannabinoids in conjunction with various terpenes and individual body chemistry.
CBD is the second most prevalent cannabinoid and is primarily produced by hemp plants and at lower amounts in cannabis. CBD has soared in popularity due to its non-psychoactive effects.
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in cannabis that contribute to each strain's unique flavor and aroma. Total terpenes represents the combined concentration of all terpene compounds detected in the product, which may influence the overall experience through the entourage effect.
Ken Estes, the California grower behind Granddaddy Purple, bred Candyland because he wanted his most famous plant in a version built for the daytime. He crossed a Granddaddy Purple male with a female Bay Platinum Cookies phenotype and selected for something sweeter, easier to grow, more resistant to mold and lighter on the head, with deep veins of purple still running through the buds. It took gold at KushCon in Denver in 2012. The name, by Estes's own telling, means nothing in particular -- he had so many crosses going that he simply called this one Candyland.
The profile lives up to the name: sweet first, with a floral, honeyed edge over an earthy, peppery base. That pepper is caryophyllene, the dominant terpene in published profiles of the strain, backed by limonene and humulene. Its reputation is upbeat -- people describe it as happy, uplifted and creative, a good fit for social plans, which is about where Estes was aiming when he set out to lighten up his Granddaddy.
Live resin is extracted from plants frozen at harvest instead of dried and cured, so it holds on to the fresh terpene profile of the living plant -- here, the sweet top and peppery base Estes bred into Candyland.
About Bouket: Bouket is a Vireo Health of New York brand launched in 2026, after ACE Venture -- a New York MWBE-certified company -- acquired a 51% stake in Vireo Health of New York; the company describes Bouket as the first minority-owned cannabis brand in New York State to receive MWBE certification. The name nods to Harlem's Prohibition-era jazz underground, when "bouquet" was used as coded language for cannabis; the brand's guiding idea is "give yourself your flowers," framing cannabis as part of intentional living.
