Blue Dream is a clone-only cut that surfaced in Santa Cruz around 2003, in the era of California's cannabis collectives. The accepted lineage is DJ Short's Blueberry crossed with Haze, although rival accounts exist and its exact creation was never documented. Whatever the parentage, it was the best-selling strain in California by 2010 and the most-searched cannabis strain on Google by 2015 - the plant that set the expectation for what this style should taste like.

**Why this one.** Rove's Melted Diamonds oil starts from fresh-frozen flower rather than dried material, which keeps the volatile aromatics that otherwise cook off during drying. A slow separation lets THCA crystallise into faceted diamonds, and those crystals are then melted back into the full-spectrum live resin they came from. It is a heavier, more concentrated oil than standard live resin, and it carries the cultivar's own aroma instead of a generic sweetness.
